Did you know that our sales, displays, cleanup of donations, merchandising and all other "jobs" are completely volunteer efforts? If you enjoy prowling the aisles at home improvement stores, absolutely love fixing things, or just want to help recycle building materials while supporting adequate housing, the Habitat Re-Store needs you!
Join HFH Lafayette's premier recycler of new and used building materials, tools and appliances. We're always looking for volunteers to work in the store. While the Habitat Re-Store sells many of the products other retail construction and home improvement stores sell, it varies in other aspects such as product selection, variability, etc.
Some of the activities we would like our volunteers to assist in may include, but are not limited to:
- maintenance of the store
- organization of merchandise
- inventory (twice a year)
- receiving (unloading and loading donated materials and merchandise)
- truck runs
- data entry
- promotions (distribution, mailings, etc.)
Also needed are volunteers with extensive knowledge in plumbing, electrical, heating/venting, etc. that would be willing to teach staff and perhaps conduct monthly workshops.
If you would like to volunteer with us, please complete the online Registration & Orientation first. For more information, call us at (765) 423-4590 x 110.
